You may do this by making a movie, commercial, podcast, music video, oral presentation, slide show presentation (keynote or powerpoint), short live performance, or anything else that has been approved by Mr. Izzy.

Step 1: You will randomly be assigned a drug.

Step 2: Research the drug. Due: Monday, November 3, 2008 by 8:00 AM.
  • This is worth 30 Homework Points.
  • The following information must be included in your research:
    • Type of drug.
    • Street/slang names for the drug.
    • Images of what the drug looks like.
    • Data about use and abuse (frequency, ages, countries, etc.).
    • How the drug is used.
    • Effects the drug has on the nervous system.
    • Type of addiction occurs with the use of the drug.
  • You must gather information from at least five different sources.
  • Photos, graphics, etc. must be properly cited (these do not count in the five source minimum).
  • Simply copy and paste your gathered information, pictures, etc. into a document and submit the document via email. Be sure to include your name in the document.
Step 3: Rough Draft. Due: Monday, November 10, 2008 by 8:00 AM.
  • This is worth 30 Homework Points.
  • This can take the form of a script, storyboard, etc.
Step 4: Final version. Due: Monday, November 17, 2008 by 8:00 AM.
  • This is worth 60 Test Points.
  • There will be no late projects accepted for any reason.
  • Late passes cannot be used on this project.
  • Whatever project you select, you will be graded on the following:
    • Psychological, medical, and scientific information.
    • Detailed citation of all resources used in your project.
    • Quality of the finished project.
    • Persuasiveness.
    • Two minutes maximum.
OPTIONAL REVISION. Due: Monday January 12th by 8:00 AM.
  • If you wish to revise your project in order to improve your grade, you may do so.
  • You may make changes to your first version, or start over completely.
  • Please remember that you are addressing a world wide audience. You should do your best to make everyone (you, me, KIS) proud of the project.
  • I would prefer that you did not use copyrighted materials (songs, pictures, videos, etc.). If you do, please be sure to give credit to the creator.
  • Please do not use or include potentially offensive material. If you're not sure, please ask for input.
