How Much Credit (or Blame) Do Parents Deserve? (D)

By Soo & Sunnah

Believing that parents shape their children as a potter molds clay, people praise parents for their children's virtues and blame them for their children's vices. Contrary to this belief, parents prove to be not that much of an influence to their children: if the parental influence is that huge, why would siblings turn out to be so different? It has been proved by research that children that share same parents are as different from each other as one chosen totally randomly from population.
Then what is such as influence that shapes children's personality? The psychologists have not yet found out. Four possible influences are prenatal environment, early experience, peer influence, and culture.
