Term: Blind Spot
Definition (Myers): the point at which the optic nerve leaves the eye, creating a "blind" spot because no receptor cells are located there
Definition (alternative): also known as the anatomical blind spot, the specific region of the retina where the optic nerve and blood vessels pass through to connect to the back of the eye
Contextual explanation: In another words, we cannot see this "blind spot" because this spot in our retina has no light-sensitive rods or cones. Therefore, a small object in the field of vision's blind spot becomes invisible.
