Definition (Myers):the sharpness of vision
Definition (alternative): One’s visual acuity is an indication of the clarity or clearness of one’s vision. It is a measurement of how well a person sees. The word “acuity” comes from the Latin acuitas, which means sharpness.1
Contextual explanation: In the term "20/20 vision" the numerator refers to the distance in feet from which a person can reliably distinguish a pair of objects. The denominator is the distance from which a person with standard VA would be able to distinguish them
