Semester 1 Exam (08-09)

  • The Semester Exam will consist of 60 multiple choice questions and one free-response question.
  • Each multiple choice question is worth one point and the free-response question is worth 30 points, for a total of 90 points. This 2/3–1/3 weighting is the same as the actual AP Exam.
  • You will have exactly 42 minutes to complete the multiple choice section and exactly 25 minutes to complete the free-response section.
  • It is important to give a detailed, specific answer to the free-response question using correct and appropriate psychological terminology.
  • The exam will be proctored like an actual AP Exam. This means that you will not be able to ask questions during the exam (you may however report any concerns after the exam is finished). There is absolutely no talking during the exam. The starting and ending times will be on the board, and you will be given one reminder when there are 10 minutes remaining. All items except for a pencil or pen must be placed in the front of the room for the duration of the exam. This includes everything else (mobile phones, iPods, etc.)! Students are responsible for making sure their desk is 100% empty (no paper, trash, etc.) before, during, and after the exam. Any students who arrive more than 10 minutes late to the exam, will not be allowed to enter the exam.
  • Units 1–7 will be covered on the Exam (which is everything we've studied so far this year). Everything is fair game – all ideas, concepts, vocabulary, etc.
  • You will not be given the free-response question in advance. Sorry.
  • The Semester Exam is worth 15% of your overall semester grade (as per the class syllabus).
